A Wedding to Remember At Groote Post
Lovingly restored, the antique filled restaurant is located in the Manor House which is set on a rolling lawn overlooking the cellar with a courtyard area covered by vines.
Daytime weddings have become very popular at the farm. The service can be held on the lawn or on the rocks overlooking the Ceremonial Bell. Guests are entertained outdoors and lunch is served in the Manor House. Numerous photo opportunities exist.
We do not charge a venue hire fee and all award winning wines are sold at only a very small mark-up which helps when one is working to a budget. We believe we are the only venue to have such a small mark-up on their wine prices. Hiring costs are passed on directly to the Client (should this be required). This dependent on guest numbers and style of wedding expected and we levy a 10% service fee on the final account.

Tuscan style roast chicken with cannellini beans, bacon, tomato and fresh herbs served with potato wedges and veggies

Smoked trout salad with new potatoes and a creamy lemon dressing
Roast leg of lamb with a mint and tomato vinaigrette served with potato bake and veggies

Darling cured meats with homemade relishes
Roast fillet with a creamy mushroom sauce with roast rosemary potatoes and veggies
Pear and chocolate tart

A selection of 3 snacks (salmon blinis, caramelised onion tarts, parmesan shortbreads, chipolata sausages, spring rolls, etc)
Mixed green leaf salad
New potato salad with a country mustard dressing
Platters of roasted vegetables
Green beans with a fresh tomato and mint vinaigrette dressing
Platters of roast chicken with fresh herbs and lemon and garlic
Grilled legs of lamb (from the farm) served either with a salsa Verde or a red wine and cranberry sauce (weather dependent)

Hi Shaun and Debbie, I just thought I would send you a few pictures from the wedding. And also to say thanks again for making our day so amazing. We enjoyed every moment from the setting up to all the fun we had with our family and friends. And knowing that you 2 were taking care of everything in the background meant we could just relax and savour the moments. It really felt like we didn't have to worry about a thing and I know this is because you 2 (and your terrific staff) were working really hard!
And the food! I wish I could have the day over just so I can eat that delicious food again. It was by far the best wedding food I have ever eaten. Every single thing was so delicious and so many of our guest have commented on it and said how fantastic it was.
